Cook still bothered by nagging hamstring

Cook is averaging 159.2 rushing yards per game

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Judging by Dalvin Cook's performance on the field it's hard to imagine how dominant he would be if he were completely healthy. Cook ran for 163 yards, including 135 in the second half, as Florida State pulled away from Louisville to win 41-21 last Saturday.

Cook is averaging 159.2 rushing yards per game, second best in the country, while still dealing with a hamstring injury that's carried over from the Wake Forest game. Hamstring injuries are notoriously tricky and Jimbo Fisher and the FSU training staff are going to be cautious with Cook.

"We can limit how many yards we want, how many accelerations, how many max accelerations," said Fisher. "Can we give him a little more long distance, and do we want him to strain and keep that speed up for a while, or do we just want burst? (The GPS is) controlling how we practice."

If Cook can stay healthy he'll go down as having one of the all-time great seasons by a running back in the history of Florida State. Warrick Dunn set the school's single season rushing record with 1,242 yards in 1995. Right now Cook is on pace to finish the regular season with 1,910 rushing yards.
