The Players improves fan experience

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – The Players Championship is gearing up for another year of fan-focused fun at the TPC Sawgrass Players Stadium Course.

Among the new elements of this year's tournament are improved viewing mounds on the No. 4 tee, No. 11 green, No. 12 tee and No. 15 green, a path for better pedestrian access to amenities at holes 4 and 5, and walk paths and paved areas in the general parking lot for easier access to the entrance gates.

“The Stadium Course was designed with the fan experience built into its DNA,” The Players Championship executive director Matt Rapp said in a news released. “This fan friendliness spreads throughout the tournament experience, including all the modern amenities and technology that today's fans expect, but the highlight by far is the views of golf, which are unlike any other tournament in the world.”

Restaurants will again be on site at the Trucks on 10 and Taste of Jax and Wine and Dine on 9 locations, including Mystery Melt, Catullos Italian, Trasca & Co., Mojo's BBQ and Vernon's.

The Players will launch a new and improved tournament website in March that includes interactive and expanded content for users, and a “Shop” section that allows fans to purchase Players-branded items throughout the year.

The tournament has also improved its phone and photo policy, expanded access for guests with disabilities, improved its smart phone app with a player locator map, concessions locations, fan venues and more, and expanded autograph zones for youth and the Patriots' Outpost at the No. 16 tee for the military.

Country music superstar Toby Keith will perform May 10 on the No. 17th hole for the annual Military Appreciation Day concert.

The Players is continuing its Four for Free parking policy that allows fans with four or more guests in one vehicle to park for free in the general lot with a pre-printed parking voucher.

Parking passes must be purchased in advance for Thursday-Sunday, and a limited quantity are available. Volunteers will not sell parking passes in the lot. Passes cost $30 per day Thursday and Sunday and $35 per day Friday and Saturday.
