Jaguars Penn St., UGA alums look foward to Tax Slayer bowl

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. –

Penn State and Georgia are two of the most prestigious universities in all of college football. The two schools will square off on Jan. 2 in the TaxSlayer Bowl in Jacksonville, Florida.

There are several alumni from both the Nittany Lions and Bulldogs on the Jaguars roster and they’re looking forward to getting a chance to see their former schools.

“I know a few of us who are Penn State alums would like to get over there to practice and see some old faces and especially some new faces,” said Jared Odrick. “I think it would be really cool for guys to reestablish themselves with the team. A guy like myself hasn’t been back to Penn State in four or five years. “

Georgia has had a lot of turnover since Abry Jones called Athens home but he’s still going to support his Bulldogs. “I definitely won’t be able to see practice,” said Jones. “But I know when guys come down they always give me a call so I’ll see some of them.”

Allen Robinson has only been off campus for two years and he’s looking forward to seeing some of his former Penn State teammates. “We’re trying to figure out where they’re practicing,” said Robinson. “I won’t be able to go to the game because we travel that day, but hopefully I can link up with them at some point.”

Paul Posluszny is now in his ninth NFL season but he’s never forgotten his past Bowl game experiences.

“Bowls are always a fun time,” said Posluszny. “It’s always a great opportunity to play against other conferences and see how they play. That was the exciting part about it. “
