Jaguars will game plan for Bengals

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Through two preseason games the Jacksonville Jaguars were more concerned with playing within their own principles, rather than game planning for their opponent. That will change on Sunday night when the Jaguars welcome the Cincinnati Bengals to EverBank Field.

The third preseason game of the year is typically the final tune-up before the regular season opener.

“This will be as close of a week as we can get to replicate an in season week,” said Jaguars head head coach Gus Bradley. “We’ll go through the process and make sure if there’s anything we need to get worked out prior to our first game, we will.”

For many veterans preseason games are a necessary evil. They want to get a couple of plays under their belt to get readjusted to the speed of the game and from there they’re happy to watch from the sidelines. During the fourth preseason game many of the Jaguars starters won’t even dress so that makes Sunday’s game even more important.

“It will be the game that we prepare for the most,” said Jaguars middle linebacker Paul Posluszny. “We will try to take this week and mimic a regular season week. This will be the closest we come to a regular game during the preseason.”
