JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was shot Friday morning while standing outside of a car on a street in Northwest Jacksonville, authorities said.
It happened about 6:50 a.m. on Barnett Street near James P. Small Park.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the man walked up next to a car when the suspects approached and began firing bullets at the car.
The man was hit and taken to UF Health Jacksonville with non-life-threatening injuries, JSO Lt. Ashish Sircar said.
Two people inside the car were not injured, police said.
Witnesses told police they saw a brown pickup truck at the scene, but investigators are not sure if it's connected to the shooting.
