Truck flips in crash that kills 19-year-old, leaves 20-year-old critical

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. – A 19-year-old from Texas was killed early Thursday in a crash on Interstate 10 in Columbia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Issac Shivers was in a Ford F-150 that was headed east on I-10 at mile marker 295 when it ran off the road into the median, spun across the eastbound lanes to the south grass shoulder and flipped.

Both Shivers, of Bronson, Texas, and 20-year-old Jacob Barnhill of Melbourne, Kentucky, were thrown from the truck in the crash.

Shivers died at the scene.

Barnhill was taken to UF Shands Gainesville in critical condition.

Troopers are still investigating to determine who was driving the truck.
