ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Frontier Airlines said it began new non-stop service to two destinations Friday in St. Augustine.

The carrier will begin non-stop flights to Chicago-O'Hare and Philadelphia. Airline officials said flights to Chicago operate Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays while flights to Philadelphia operate Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Frontier said it is offering introductory fares as low as $20 one-way on the new routes as of Friday to celebrate the new service.

"We are excited to welcome Frontier back to the Northeast Florida Regional Airport," said Edward Wuellner, executive director of Northeast Florida Regional Airport. "Frontier continues to provide an ideal match for our airport and our community as it allows visitors from the northeast direct, low fare access to all that St. Augustine and the First Coast have to offer while also providing local residents with convenient access to Philadelphia and Chicago."

Frontier nationally is adding new non-stop service in 35 markets Friday throughout the U.S. and is also re-launching service in 28 seasonal markets, the airline said.

"Travelers between big cities have enjoyed low fares while many markets have remained overpriced and underserved," said Daniel Shurz, senior vice president - commercial. "Frontier's low fares in these new markets will benefit millions of new fliers who are forced to drive because they haven't found affordable air travel options -- or they simply stay at home."
