EF-1 tornado touches down in SW Bristol, NWS says

Low-end tornado topples power lines, snaps trees

BRISTOL, Ga. – An EF-1 tornado touched down Christmas Eve in Pierce County, Georgia, according to the National Weather Service.

NWS officials said the tornado touched down before 1 p.m. Wednesday in the southwest Bristol area of Pierce County, north of Blackshear.

Emergency management told News4Jax seven homes suffered damage, although they are all still livable.

The low-end tornado also toppled power lines and snapped trees in the area, but there were no reported injuries.

The tornado lasted for about 6 miles, and was between 60 and 100 yards wide.
