JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two potential rounds of severe weather this morning prompt a Weather Authority Alert Day. The first line of rain should pass after the morning commute. The second round of rain is less likely to pack a punch, but any stronger storms would possibly occur between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Between these two threats, there maybe hours of sunshine, warm and breezy conditions with just a few showers.
Storms have backed off in SE Georgia and focus over northeast Florida. Heavy rain will cover areas south of I-10 down to Gainesville and St. Augustine. Rain tapers off after 8 a.m.
