Dry conditions move out on Monday, rain returns for most of the week

Monday highs

The sun will set on Mother’s Day at 8:12 p.m. under partly cloudy skies and a light breeze. Evening temperatures will drop into the mid-70 after reaching low-to-mid 80s across most of the region. Overnight temps will drop into the upper 60s. Can’t rule out stray showers drifting into SE Georgia.

The dry pattern we’ve had all weekend will end tomorrow. Rain returns to the forecast for just about everyone starting Monday afternoon. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorm activity will increase after lunchtime and stick around through Tuesday evening. Temperatures will be hot, adding to the gusty conditions along with sea breezes from both the Gulf Coast and the Atlantic Coast. Rain chances remain for the entire week as temperatures continue to rise near 90.

Monday sunrise: 6:34 a.m.
