Man driving in wrong direction hit woman head-on, FHP said

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 30-year-old woman is dead after a head-on collision crash on I-295 at Duval Road Tuesday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The FHP report said the woman was headed south on I-295 when a Sedan — traveling in the wrong direction on I-295 — crashed into her. The impact sent both vehicles spinning and the car flipped, landing on its right side.

The 57-year-old man driving the car was seriously injured. He was wearing a seat belt.

It’s unknown if the woman was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, FHP said. The report did not indicate if she died at the scene or at a hospital.
