Motorcyclist killed in 3-vehicle crash on A1A in Flagler County: FHP

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – A 53-year-old man from St. Augustine was killed and a woman was seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash Thursday night on A1A and Bay Drive, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

A pick-up truck and an SUV were driving south on A1A, one in front of the other, when the SUV came to a stop to make a left turn onto Bay Drive. The pick-up truck behind that SUV didn’t stop and rear-ended the SUV, the report said.

The impact rotated the pick-up truck toward the center line, where it hit a motorcycle being ridden by a 53-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman, both from St. Augustine.

The driver of the motorcycle died at the hospital, according to FHP. The motorcycle passenger was seriously injured. Both were wearing helmets, according to the report.

The 42-year-old woman driving the pick-up truck and the 56-year-old woman driving the SUV were not injured. Two adult passengers in the SUV were also not injured. Everyone in the SUV was wearing a seat belt. The pick-up truck driver was not, the report said.
