JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a recall on dehumidifiers made by Midea due to what the agency calls a serious fire and burn hazards.
The CPSC says $4.8 million in property damage has been reported.

The dehumidifiers were sold under many brand names. To see if your dehumidifier has been recalled, enter the model number here: https://www.recallrtr.com/dehumidifier
Consumers should immediately turn off and unplug the dehumidifiers and contact GD Midea for either a replacement unit or a partial refund. Consumers whose dehumidifiers were manufactured before Oct. 1, 2008 will receive a partial refund, not a replacement. The manufacturing dates can be found on back of units.
