TerraCycle and Target have partnered together to reward you for recycling your old baby and child car seats at a participating Target store.

From April 17 through April 30, you can bring your used car seats to the designated Target Take Back recycling area at a participating Target store and trade it in for a coupon for 20 percent off any new car seat in stores or at Target.com. The coupon is good through May 31.

Target says TerraCycle will then make sure that all the car seats collected either get recycled or upcycled into new products. Through the partnership, Target says it expects to keep more than 700,000 pounds of car seat materials out of landfills.

“In honor of Earth Month, we wanted to make it easy for guests to do something positive for the planet and their communities,” says Jennifer Silberman, chief sustainability officer, Target. “We love this opportunity to give families an environmentally friendly way to dispose of unwanted car seats and get the new ones they need just in time for spring.”
