Two restaurants in The Jacksonville Landing were temporarily shut down

Four restaurant were temporaruly shut down because of Roaches

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Landing had two closures last week.  Village Bread Café in the front of the landing had to close overnight after the inspector found nearly a dozen live roaches behind the hand washing sink. The next day the inspector did come back and there were still roaches so they had to stay closed for a couple more hours. Later that day they were allowed to open because there were no roaches but it's still required to get a follow up inspection sometime in the next few months.

Fionn MacCoul's Irish Pub had to shut it's doors for just a few hours because of roaches found by an inspector last week.  15 were in the doorway seal in the back preparation area of the kitchen.  The owner told me the exterminator came during the inspection to address the problem. Fionn MacCoul's Irish Pub was able to open back up that same day with zero serious violations.

Bella Vita on Baymeadows Road was shut down for the night because of roaches.  An inspector found  seven live roaches along the wall in the kitchen, another roach was found inside the cooler at the wait station and another inside the beer cooler hinge. The inspector noted she made two inspections the next day. The first one Bella Vita didn't pass because there were still roaches but later that day they were allowed to open back up after a third inspection showed the roach problem was resolved.

Genes Seafood at University Boulevard had three inspections but in three days. It was first shut down on the 19 because of roaches.  The most were found near the hand wash sink in the bar area. The next day the inspector came back and found dead roaches but still a few live ones in the same area as the day before.  It took another day and a third inspection for Genes Seafood at University Boulevard to open back up.  This time there were no roaches and no serious violations.
