2 men in Palatka robbery, shooting identified, deputies say

Deputies: 1 arrested, another sought in Oct. 3 incident

PALATKA, Fla. – A 22-year-old man is in jail and a 46-year-old man is being sought in a robbery and shooting that happened earlier this month, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said John Dudash Jr. was robbed and shot at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 3 while visiting a home on West Towles Avenue in Palatka.

A passerby called the Sheriff's Office after he saw Dudash walking on the roadway with blood coming from his head, authorities said.

Deputies determined Dudash had been shot in the head during a possible robbery. Dudash survived his injuries and was treated at a trauma center, deputies said.

During the investigation, Timothy Tyrone Thomas Jr. and Harry James Robinson Jr. were identified as the men in the robbery and shooting, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Arrest warrants were obtained for both men Oct. 10. Thomas, who was arrested the same day, was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and armed robbery. Deputies said Thomas remains in the Putnam County Jail without bond.

Robinson remains at large and is wanted on an active warrant for charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, deputies said.

Anyone who knows Robinson's whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 888-277-TIPS (8477). Deputies said callers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward if the information leads to Robinson's arrest.
