SUV flips on its side after being rear-ended by car

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – Four people were taken to the hospital after a three-vehicle crash Wednesday night in Clay County.

The accident happened on Blanding Boulevard at Old Jennings Road.

Clay County Fire and Rescue crews responded to a call at 9:30 p.m. to multiple people being trapped in vehicles.

Three vehicles were traveling south on Blanding Boulevard near the stoplight at Old Jennings Road. A SUV was rear-ended by car, causing the SUV to flip on its side. That car then struck another SUV.

The SUV that was rear-ended had three passengers, and all had to be extracted from the vehicle by CCFR. The three people were taken to Orange Park Medical Center.

One person was trapped in another car and was extracted. That person was airlifted to UF Health in Jacksonville.

The other SUV also had three passengers inside, but no one was hurt in the vehicle.
