JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Resurfacing of Beach Boulevard is scheduled to start Thursday, from Ridgewood Road to FOP Way and from Ryer Road to a point west of Parental Home Road, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.

Masci General Contractors Inc. is the contractor. The project is scheduled to be completed in the spring at a cost of $3,832,891.28.

The project is about four miles long. It will involve removal of existing asphalt, rebuilding the base and repaving. Additional work includes drainage improvements, replacement of portions of the existing water main, sidewalk repair, traffic signals, lighting, highway signs and guard rails.

Motorists should use caution when traveling through the construction site and anticipate nighttime lane closures, typically from 7 p.m. until 6. a.m., but times could fluctuate, officials said.

They said a traffic separator will be used adjacent to the travel way and sidewalk at Little Pottsburg Creek but should not impact traffic.
