Car crashes into bar in Jacksonville Beach

Witnesses say no one was hurt

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. – A car crashed into a Jacksonville Beach bar shortly after midnight Saturday.

Witnesses said a light-colored hatchback was traveling north on Third Street, trying to make a left turn onto Third Avenue South, when the driver drove into the front door of Ginger's Place.

No one appeared to be injured and no one inside the business suffered any injuries, according to witnesses.

One person who was on the other side of the door when the accident happened said the business was shut down for about 30 minutes after the incident. He said the structure was being inspected.

Officials told staff at Ginger's Place that they could reopen.

The front door was crushed and framing on the door was expected to be replaced later Saturday.
