Community leaders: 'Children matter most'

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Children matter most. That's what a group of community leaders and law enforcement workers stressed Wednesday at a luncheon on the Southside.

State Attorney Angela Corey, along with  judges, police officers and child advocates, like Diena Thompson, participated in a panel about what is needed in Jacksonville when it comes to protecting children.

The panel was part of the 22nd annual Child Abuse Prevention luncheon.

"We believe that this is going to help our community heal, help our community feel that there is hope in keeping our children safe," said Prudence Williams, program director at Exchange Club Family Center of Northeast Florida.

The event is part of Child Abuse Prevention month.
