Daniel Rowe remembered on his birthday

20-year-old was gunned down outside Riverside Restaurant

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Loved ones of a Jacksonville man gunned down while taking out the trash at work came together Monday night to remember him.

Daniel Rowe would've celebrated his 21st birthday Monday but instead family and friends held a candlelight vigil.

They gathered at the Blind Rabbit restaurant in Riverside where Rowe was shot twice in the head nearly two weeks ago in a dark alley.

His friends and family honored his life at a viewing over the weekend.

News4Jax spoke with Rowe's parents Monday afternoon about what the day meant to them.

"Today, basically, he would've been an adult. He would've been 21. The age every young man looks to become and out of nowhere it was just taken away," Raelyn Rowe, Daniel Rowes's mother, said.

So far police have not arrested anyone in the killing but police are asking anyone with information that can help detectives to call Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
