Dresses needed for local high school students

Prom dresses needed for donations to students at Sandalwood High School.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Sandalwood High School is collecting dresses for girls who can't afford to buy one to attend the homecoming dance Oct. 18.

Last year, more than 50 girls found dream dresses through donations made to the school, but more are needed. Even though four racks of dresses were donated last year from one organization, the demand is so high that there aren't enough dresses available.

Dresses are expensive, and some of the girls simply can't afford to buy a dress.  PTA organizers want to help these young ladies feel included and to be excited about the dance.

Dresses can be dropped off at Sandalwood High School between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. For more information, call the PTA office at 904-646-5100 ext. 1269. Click here to read about a local church that is also accepting donations to be given to Sandalwood High School.
