Duval County teacher wins Governor's Shine Award

Fort Carolina Elementary's Diana Huff one of four winners statewide

TALLAHASSEE, Fla – A Duval County public school teacher was one of four educators in the state presented with the Governor's Shine Award Tuesday.

Diana Huff, who teaches fifth grade reading, writing and social studies at Fort Caroline Elementary School was recognized by Gov. Rick Scott for her commitment to student success and to furthering her professional skills.

Huff, who has been teaching for 20 years, was joined by Dr. Evangeline Aguirre of Palm Beach County, Justine Jackson of Sarasota County and Leigh Ann Norris from Hamilton County in receiving the Shine Award.

"I am proud to present these four educators with the Governor’s Shine Award today for their commitment to the success of Florida students," Scott said. "I’d like to thank these educators and all of the teachers and administrators throughout the state who go above and beyond to prepare our students for higher education and a great career."
