JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - – The family of a missing man feared dead has confirmed that it was his body found inside a home in Northwest Jacksonville Wednesday morning.
Ronald Trotter, Junior's family told News4Jax that Jacksonville Sheriff's Office detectives confirmed the body's identity Friday. Trotter was last seen at a Memorial Day barbecue. His family passed out flyers around the community in the days after his disappearance in an effort to find him.
Wednesday morning, JSO officers found a body inside a home on Janette Street. Trotter's family went to the scene, concerned that the man found dead inside was him.
"I received a call from a family member that we needed to get here because a crime tech was out here. People had suspicions, and we suspected anyway, but nothing was sketched in stone; nothing was definite," Karen Trotter told us that day.
Police said they do suspect foul play in Trotter's death.
