OCOEE, Fla. – A 2-year-old child died Thursday after his father accidentally ran over him in an Orange County driveway, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the father, 52-year-old Jose Manual Cruz, whose utility truck was backed into the driveway on Old Oak Tree Court about 12:40 p.m. They said he pulled forward to leave the house. Without knowing his 2-year-old son, Prince, had run behind the truck, Cruz backed up because he "forgot something."

Cruz saw what had happened when he saw Prince lying in front of his truck after reversing all the way back.
Prince was under the care of an unrelated 16-year-old babysitter. Troopers said Prince had somehow gotten outside and traveled into the driveway without Cruz's knowledge.
The FHP said it was continuing to investigate the incident.
