According to the FHP report, Young was driving a stolen Honda Accord and failed to yield the right of way to a bus at the intersection of Atlantic and Kernan boulevards. The bus driver, 62-year-old Earnest Lee Dixon, told troopers there were 17 passengers on the bus when the accident happened.

All of the passengers were gone by the time troopers arrived at the crash. Dixon said four complained of minor injuries but did not want to be taken to hospitals.
