ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – People continued to come to an Alachua County neighborhood to see a massive sink hole that is growing.
The large sink hole, located near 11958 Southwest 5th Ave., forced people to evacuate on Saturday. It started overnight Friday, according to Robin Matheny, the homeowner.
On Sunday, Linda Rush and her grandson came to see the sink hole estimated to be 80 by 40 feet.

"My think is it gonna spread? Is it gonna continue to open up?" said Rush.
The sink hole's only victims have been things left in the backyard and a lot of grass. A shed was teetering over.
The Matheny family has lived in the home for more than 30 years.
"Well, I went down about 6 o'clock yesterday where the sink hole is and was grilling to the right of the steps and now my grill is in the bottom of the sink hole," said Matheny.
"It's a hole in the ground. A big hope but a hole in the ground," said Lloyd Vipperman, who lives across the street.
Vipperman said he's not concerned about his property.
"Sink holes are a part of living like Florida. Kind of like snakes. You gotta understand they're around and insure against them and do the best you can."
Scientists have said it's unsafe for the family to live there. The insurance company is investigating since the moved out.
So far, there have been no injuries.
