RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. – Sen. Marco Rubio toured a South Florida apartment owned by Global Ministries Foundation on Friday, calling the living conditions some of the worst he's ever seen, according to WPTV.
Rubio met Friday with residents at the Stonybrook Apartments in Riviera Beach and walked through the complex, finding mold, walls, roaches and some units without air conditioners, WPTV reports.

While talking with reporters, Rubio called the GMF executives "slumlords."
"They take HUD money. They have federal money from the taxpayer. They get to maintain these units and they're not maintaining them, so where did that money go? Where did the money go that they're getting to maintain these units? If they're not spending it on maintenance that means they're keeping it," Rubio said.
Last month, Rubio said he was pleased that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is investigating GMF, which also owns several other apartment complexes throughout the country, including Eureka Gardens and Washington Heights in Jacksonville.
Rubio has been outspoken about the troubled complexes in Jacksonville and toured Eureka Gardens at one point. He sent letters to several federal agencies, urging them to open an investigation into GMF.
Officials with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development said last month that GMF has picked a buyer for its properties in Florida, Georgia and Tennessee, which were put up for sale in May.
