HASTINGS, Fla. – Nine counterfeit bills were passed Friday at the Dollar General store in Hastings, the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office said.
The manager of the store on County Road 13 told deputies that a man came into the store to load money onto a prepaid debit card and used 11 $20 bills to pay for his check total of $204.

Deputies said they learned nine of all the $20 bills were fake.
The manager said she had never seen the man in the store before.
Other businesses in the area were advised to be on alert. The Sheriff's Office continues to investigate.
