ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - For the first time in more than 40 years, the historic campus of Flagler College will be available to host weddings and receptions.
The campus includes the former Hotel Ponce de Leon, which has sheltered many tourists who traveled to the oldest city in the United States for more than a century.
Much of the college campus is described as a glamorous setting that was once a playground for America's most privileged elite.
With this new offering, couples can be married in a National Historic Landmark. The building is 125 years old, built in 1888, which is why holding a wedding in a place of rich historical background and beautiful architecture is an opportunity most would not pass-up.
The Grand Ballroom in the former Hotel Ponce de Leon, the historic Markland House, and the Crisp-Ellert Art Museum are three venues on campus that the college offers to prospective brides and grooms.
These spacious and sophisticated venues within the college are promised to be the perfect setting for any style, tone and size.
Each venue offers multiple options for food, furnishings and entertainment. The college has partnered with the Casa Monica Hotel, the Tasting Room Restaurant and Flagler Catering Services to provide meal planning and catering.
This new offering will launch in spring 2014, and reservations are expected to fill quickly. Bookings will be offered for spring and summer events only.
