The Forestry Service and Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department were called about 11 a.m. to a fire moving north along Forest Trail Road toward Normandy Boulevard, said Annaleasa Winter, Jacksonville-area Forestry Service public information officer.

Winter said it was more of a brush fire on a property that regularly has controlled burns, so it didn’t consume much vegetation and it never got close to any structures.

As of 4:30 p.m., the blaze had been contained, but the Forestry Service said it will watch the area to make sure it doesn't flare back up.

Winter said it uncertain how it started and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
