FSU student reports attack near campus

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – A Florida State University student told police she was attacked near campus early Tuesday morning, according to WCTV in Tallahassee.

The student told police she was walking on Park Avenue before 2 a.m. when a man approached her and tried to make conversation, WCTV reported.

She said she walked away and the man ran up behind her and tried to cover her mouth. She resisted and screamed and the man ran away, according to WCTV.

The student was not injured.

The attacker was described as a black man, approximately 6'1" with a muscular build and bald. He was wearing a black muscle shirt, khaki shorts and carried a black backpack.

The FSU Police Department is investigating the case.
