Body of 11-year-old boy with autism found in pond near home

ALBANY, Ga. – A search for a missing 11-year-old Albany, Georgia, boy ended in tragedy this week when his body was recovered from a pond a half-mile from his home, according to a report from WALB.

Bruce Lemon-Curry, who had autism, wandered away from his home about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday and his body was found just after 7 a.m. Wednesday in a nearby pond at Mary Young-Cummings Moss Memorial Park.

A helicopter was used in the search for Lemon-Curry, and an assistant police chief with the Albany Police Department said the pond was checked for two hours Tuesday before the body was found during a re-check on Wednesday.
