Interstate 95 accident

One person in critical condition after crash

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – One person was taken to UF Health in critical condition after an automobile accident that closed down a part of Interstate 95 for hours on Saturday.

Florida Highway Patrol says a Toyota Tacoma driven by Mark Ulbricht, 24 was on the entrance ramp from Old St. Augustine Road to I-95 northbound when he lost traction and slid across the road.

The front of Ulbricht's car hit a Chevy Equinox being driven by Daryl Bishop, 52. Ulbricht's car continued to slide across lanes and was hit by a tractor-trailer being driven by Shale Anderson, 41.

Ulbricht was taken to UF Health with critical injuries. FHP says he was not wearing his seat belt, and an alcohol test is pending. Neither Bishop or Anderson were injured.
