JSO recalls AR-15s from officers after 2 incidents

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – After two incidents with Olympic Arms AR-15s, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is recalling the assault rifles from the field.

In one case, a weapon misfired. And in another incident at the range, the trigger pulled sluggishly, then when it was pulled, the gun fired too many rounds.

Out of an abundance of caution, JSO is asking officers to bring the rifles to a staging area in to get the triggers replaced.

The process should take about 30 days.

JSO did not say how many guns were being recalled. It said the recall would cost about $50,000.
