Jury selection set for Matthew Apperson trial

Man accused of shooting at George Zimmerman faces unrelated charges

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – Jury selection is set to begin on Monday in a trial for the man who is accused of shooting at George Zimmerman earlier this year.

The trial is on charges stemming from accusations that Matthew Apperson urinated on the porch of his neighbor's home.

Apperson faces disorderly conduct charges, which landed him back in jail after the Zimmerman incident in May.

Apperson's attorney denies the allegations. Apperson had previously been granted bond on the attempted murder charge in the Zimmerman shooting, but after hearing arguments for more than two hours, Judge Debra Nelson revoked Apperson's bond.

Jury selection begins at 8:30 a.m.

Apperson is next due back in court on the Zimmerman incident for a docket sounding on Wednesday.

Zimmerman became a public figure in 2012 when he fatally shot teenager Trayvon Martin. He was acquitted of charges in 2013.
