Lake Cityman wins $10 million in scratch-off ticket

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Randall Wheeler Jr., 29, of Lake City, has claimed the top prize in Florida Lottery's $10 million Florida Cash Scratch-Off game at Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.

Wheeler chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $7,433,327. He purchased his winning ticket from S&S Food on State Road 247 in Lake City. The store will receive a $20,000 bonus commission for selling the winning scratch-off ticket.

The $25 game features more than 11 million winning tickets and more than $624 million in total cash prizes, according to lottery officials. There are 45 $1 million prizes and three $10 million prizes remaining to be won. The game's overall odds of winning are 1-in-2.88.

Scratch-off games comprise about 64 percent of ticket sales and generated more than $640 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund in last year.
