JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 32-year-old man was convicted Friday afternoon on charges of attempted murder in the first degree and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

In June 2012, authorities said Luis Enrique Amador-Carbajal, 32, got into a verbal argument with Henry Molina, 30, in the restroom of the Happy Time Bar, located on University Boulevard.

After the dispute, Carbajal left the bar. A few minutes later, officials said Carbajal returned to the business, walked up to Molina, who was sitting at the bar, and pointed a gun at his head.

A brief struggle occurred and then Carbajal shot Molina three times in the arm and leg, state attorneys said.

Carbajal fled the scene and was later arrested.

As a prison release reoffender, officials said Carbajal faces mandatory life in prison. He will be sentenced on Nov. 25.

Authorities said Molina has recovered from his injuries.
