Man given life sentence for killing neighbor

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Jacksonville man convicted of killing a man after an argument at a bar last year will spend the rest of his life in prison.

Peter James Klemm, 41, was found guilty last month of first-degree murder in the March 2013 killing of 34-year-old John Matthew James.  He was sentenced Tuesday to a minimum mandatory of life in prison.

According to prosecutors, Klemm and James went to a bar to drink, but got into an argument.  They said went home, retrieved a handgun and headed to James' apartment, where he approached the victim while he was standing on the back
porch of his home on Arrowhead Drive and shot him in the throat.

James' brother tackled Klemm and held him until police arrived.
