He was sentenced Thursday to 48 years in prison on the sexual battery charge, 30 years on the aggravated battery charge, 30 years on the robbery charge, and 10 years on the felony battery charge.

Brown also received five years in prison on a separate possession of cocaine case. The prison terms will run concurrently.

Brown was also identified as a habitual offender.

In July 2010, Brown and an unidentified man followed the woman from a bar at the beach. Prosecutors said both men knocked the woman unconscious with a blow to the head and sexually battered her.

Brown and the other man then took the woman's purse and left her in the street, prosecutors said.

The victim was in court when Brown was sentenced. She told prosecutors after the hearing she was grateful Brown has been taken off the streets.
