JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 29-year-old Jacksonville man was found guilty Wednesday evening of breaking into a 66-year-old woman's home with a sawed-off shotgun, robbing her and forcing her to perform a sex act.

Christopher Watts was convicted of one count of armed robbery, one count of armed burglary and one count of sexual battery.

In April, Watts broke into the woman's Lake Shore home by smashing a sliding glass door with the sawed-off shotgun, prosecutors said. They said he demanded money and jewelry from her and then threatened to rape and shoot her if she did not comply.

Watts also forced the woman to remove her clothing and to perform a sex act, prosecutors said. Watts then fled the scene.

His blood was found on a broken piece of glass from the sliding glass door, which linked him to the crime, prosecutors said.

Watts now faces 30 years to life in prison. He will be sentenced Jan. 5.
