Man found guilty of second-degree murder in girlfriend's death

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was found guilty of second-degree murder Friday evening, state attorneys said.

Calvin Andrews Jr., 37, and LaBreka Evans, 29, got into an argument at their Woodland Street home.

State attorneys said the two of them were in a relationship, in which they lived together and had a child in common.

Andrews shot Evans in the stomach during the argument, state attorneys said. He drove her to the hospital, where she died two days later.

Andrews faces 25 years to life in prison. State attorneys said he will be sentenced the week of April 18.
