Man pleads guilty to vehicular homicide in 2015 crash

John Dawkins Lyles, 20, pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man arrested for vehicular homicide in a December 2015 crash pleaded guilty on Monday.

According to the arrest report, 20-year old John Dawkins Lyles was driving 94 mph in a 45 mph zone when he T-boned David Smith’s car at the intersection of Beach and Peach drives.

Smith died at the hospital.

The crash was caught on surveillance video by a business at the intersection.

Lyles was arrested in March. He is awaiting sentencing.
