More charges filed against Deltona firefighter accused of rape

Another victim comes forward against Terry Freeman

DELTONA, Fla. – Volusia County deputies have charged the Deltona firefighter who they have referred to as a "serial rapist" with another sexual battery charge on Tuesday after a new victim came forward.

Terry Freeman, 32, of Deltona, was arrested Dec. 31 after a woman claimed she was raped by him after they met at a Sanford furniture store, sparking a string of victims saying Freeman attacked them as well.

On Tuesday, investigators filed charges related to an attack on a 27-year-old Orange City woman, who came forward on Monday to report the incident, according to deputies.

The victim told deputies she met Freeman at a college class in November and agreed to meet Freeman at his house to study with him.

According to VCSO, the victim said she made it clear to Freeman that they were only going to study and that there would be no "funny business."

When she arrived at the house, the victim said that Freeman called her to the bedroom, saying he wanted to show her something and when she went there, she said Freeman grabbed her by the hair, pushed her onto the bed and tried to pull her pants down, according to the report.

The victim told deputies Freeman also exposed himself during the struggle and tried to get her to perform a sex act on him. She eventually was able to fight back and break free from Freeman's grasp and get out of the bedroom, VCSO said.

At least eight victims have come forward so far. Three of the eight came forward, claiming they were sexually assaulted under similar circumstances, prompting deputies to arrest Freeman shortly after he was freed from jail, where he was held on the first charge.

VCSO has charged Freeman for four of the eight victims. Orange City Police Department filed a complaint affidavit with the state attorney's office for a fifth victim. Charges against Freeman are pending in the complaints of the other three victims.

Freeman has been placed on a leave of absence with the Deltona Fire Department.

Anyone with information about other incidents is urged to call the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.
