Jacksonville Symphony preps for season opening

The Jacksonville Symphony is getting geared up for its upcoming season in September. 

The  symphony has a plethora of musical event scheduled for the new season. The symphony will open on Sept.16 with a special fanfare concert featuring Charlie Siem. 

There will be 12 Florida Blue Masterworks Series concerts and 12 Fidelity National Financial Series Pops concerts, four Symphonic Nights at the Movies and a Jan.20 gala featuring world-renowned soprano Renée Fleming.

The symphony will bring back opera with a symphonic-staged production of "Don Giovanni" on March 16 and 18, 2018. 

Guests artists joining the symphony this season include the Mambo Kings, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, soprano Christine Brewer and pianist Jonathan Biss.
