JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man is dead after a collision between a car and motorcycle Friday evening in Arlington, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
The crash happened at about 5:40 p.m. near the intersection of Merrill Road and Lansdowne Drive. Police said the motorcyclist, a 36-year-old man, was taken to the hospital where he died.

The driver and passenger inside the car had to be extracted from their vehicle by Jacksonville Fire Rescue using heavy cutting equipment. They were hurt, but their injuries are said not to be life-threatening.
Merrill Road was closed several hours while detectives investigated the scene.
The identity of the man who died has not been revealed.
