From Thursday until Monday pet lovers can adopt from the Jacksonville Humane Society and Animal Care and Protective Services for $20.

The typical fee to adopt a new pet is $75, so officials said it's a great weekend to adopt.

They said they have hundreds of animals waiting for a new home.

"I think we've got more than 300, and the city has even more than that so between the two of us we've got hundreds of animals, so there's something for everybody this weekend," said Amy Pierce, Humane Society director of development.

The Jacksonville Humane Society located on Beach Boulevard will be open Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday and Monday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

ACPS will be open Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Officials said all animals are vaccinated, spayed, neutered and microchipped.
