NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. – A man is hit and killed by a car around 10 p.m. Friday night, while walking along U.S. 17 in Nassau County, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The man was identified as 40-year-old Irving Michael Morgan, of Yulee.

Troopers said Morgan was walking south on the edge of the outside lane on U.S. 17 just after 10 p.m. when he was hit by a car driven by 30-year-old Ashley Morrell.
Troopers say that Morrell did stop and pull over.
According to the FHP report, the investigation found that Morgan was wearing dark clothing and walking in the roadway improperly.
