Piled trash finally hauled from Baymeadows complex

Residents said trash has been piling up next to the dumpster for more than a week, and several were concerned it's a major health problem.

News4Jax learned Friday that the city of Jacksonville issued the complex a citation of a municipal code on trash and debris.

By Friday afternoon, a resident sent the photo above showing the trash had been removed.

"The management of Villages of Baymeadow deeply regrets the unwanted garbage buildup at the property due to a invoicing issue," wrote Sid Bridge of Harbor Group International in a statement Friday afternoon. "The issue has been resolved and the area around the property's compactors has been thoroughly cleaned. At Villages of Baymeadow, we hold ourselves to a high standard, and care first and foremost for the safety and comfort of our residents. We apologize for any inconvenience caused to our residents and we have taken steps to ensure it will not happen again."
