Putnam committee tops $300K in early March

After a hefty fundraising month in February, a political committee closely tied to Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam raised more than $300,000 during the first 10 days of March, according to the committee's website.

The "Florida Grown" committee, which could play an important role in Putnam's expected run for governor next year, raised nearly $2.25 million in February and had about $6.84 million on hand at the end of the month.

From March 1 to March 10, the committee raised another $316,000, according to its website. That included $100,000 from a Florida Retail Federation PAC and $25,000 each from Comcast Corp. and AT&T Services, Inc.
